While Kentucky has seen a decrease in drug overdose deaths and we lead the nation in the number of treatment beds per capita, Gov. Beshear believes it takes everyone working together to save more lives and make more progress. Below are key services the state offers to help Kentuckians overcome addiction.
FindHelpNow.org/KY
FindHelpNow/KY is a free website that provides near real-time access to Kentucky-based addiction treatment providers that are accepting Kentuckians right now. The FindHelpNow/KY locator will guide Kentuckians to available treatment openings based on the type of treatment needed. Other services to search for on the site include mental health treatment, addiction treatment, recovery housing and naloxone search.

Recovery Ready Communities
In June 2022, the Governor announced the
creation of the Recovery Ready Communities program. Recovery Ready certification encourages communities to provide transportation to and from employment services and job interviews, allowing Kentuckians to make positive changes in their lives while filling much needed jobs and contributing to the commonwealth’s record-breaking economic development. There is no application deadline. The Recovery Ready Communities Advisory Council certifies communities on a rolling basis. To learn more about the program and apply for certification as a Recovery Ready Community, local government leaders can email
info@rrcky.org.
Drug and Mental Health Treatment Alternatives to Incarceration
For those suffering from addiction or mental health disorders, individuals can receive treatment in lieu of jail time. If you have been charged with a low-level drug offense for the first time, second chance opportunities in the commonwealth include the
Rocket Docket program,
referral by a public advocate to treatment and diversion to a
Behavioral Health Conditional Dismissal Program. Depending on the program, those who successfully complete treatment may have their charges dismissed. To determine eligibility, contact your public advocate, legal counsel or commonwealth/county attorney.
Justice-Involved Recovery Resources
The Department of Corrections provides
treatment and coaching services to help the incarcerated population overcome addiction to help them become productive members of society.
